The Jetour brand hasn’t exactly enjoyed a warm reception in South Africa. Models like the X70 and Dashing struggled to inspire confidence, particularly when it came to drivetrain calibration and overall polish. The Jetour T2, however, feels like a clean-sheet rethink — and a surprisingly convincing one.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 180 kW and 375 Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that has undergone meaningful improvements. Throttle response is sharp, shifts are smooth, and while a slight clutch judder can be felt on uphill pull-aways, it’s minor and easy to live with.

The XWD all-wheel-drive system offers multiple drive modes, including off-road-specific settings, and performs confidently on loose surfaces. On-road, the T2 is quiet, comfortable, and impressively composed, with a compliant suspension setup and light steering that can be adjusted via drive modes.
Inside, the squared-off design is modern and well executed. Soft-touch materials, red stitching, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and large digital displays create a cabin that feels far more premium than expected at this price point. Tech highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Sony sound system, and a comprehensive suite of safety features.

Fuel consumption remains the biggest drawback. A claimed 9.3 L/100 km feels optimistic, with real-world urban figures landing in the mid 10s. There are also a few visible exterior panel fit issues that remind you Jetour still has some refinement to do.
At R679 900, backed by a 7-year warranty and a 10-year engine warranty, the Jetour T2 Odyssey XWD represents strong value — and more importantly, a genuine shift in brand credibility.
